Just about fishable following last weekends rain topped up again early week! x1 grayling on a shrimp pattern (middle in pic). Tried several shrimp patterns alongside nymphs but no other fish or takes. 0730-1400.
Would suggest that mid-high 30s is about the max height on the Llanddewi gauge via River App that would be fishable on this section. Looks like it will be good conditions into this weekend and early next week. Great to see Spring coming on and not long to go until the trout season begins.

Arrived at the beat full of optimism.
River finning down to a good level.
I tried a different approach today to avoid the chub.
Some success.
A great day being on the bank.

Too much water to have a realistic chance of a fish? Couldn't even find any slack water fishable from our bank.
Beautiful day with sunshine but a sharp wind; Being an aged group we all had our long-johns on & enjoyed plenty of snacks & Kelly's kettles whilst we waited for that monster bite.... which never came.
Still, there are worse places to catch up with old friends.
Thanks to all concerned.
PS: for all you anglers greasing up your salmon lines, we did see a salmon at the head of Loxsters pool.

A difficult start to the day as one of us (not me!) misjudged the conditions in dealing with the flooded bit of track and got his car stuck. Many thanks go to Allyson at WUF for reporting our predicament to the landowner, them for responding, and the ever brilliant Stefan for towing the car out with a tractor.
That apart, conditions looked perfect for this time of year: high and dropping, loads of colour, 8.1 water temp. I blanked from a normally reliable swim but Steve managed two barbel of 3 and 5lb from two different swims on feeder and 10mm halibuts, both in the few few casts after starting. Good chat with two nice lads from Windsor, and help from the fifth chap with my car slipping - we really are a pretty decent bunch us anglers.

River running at 2.5m on Ross gauge, air temp 7-9 degrees C.
I fished solely at the lower end and between rain, bites were not exactly prolific. Caught 4 chub to around 4lb on maggot feeder or meat on GB feeder. Lovely well kept venue kept by Stefan which I assume accounts in part for the price increase on this beat. To be fair this beat has more fishable swims than many other WUF venues.
