£45 is an outrageous amount. Nice place and 5 barbel but no effort has been put in by the Foundation to create any decent swims. In fact from the entrance to the bridge there are few accesable swims unless you want to fish fast shallows. Won't go on this stretch again.
WUF Note: There are several croys from which to fish upstream of the bridge at Caradoc that give access to deeper water.

Have been holidaying in Wales for the last few years fishing in lakes, came across the passport scheme on a fishing forum, what a wonderful resource. Having read as many reviews as I could, booked two beats for what would be my first time river fishing in forty years. Access was overgrown but I followed the trail of a previous fisherman, the beat provides plenty of variety, overgrown in places, but as a complete novice I always felt confident in my wading. The weather was overcast and windy but the beat is sheltered. I fished from 11 till about 4.30. I started with a weighted pheasant tailed nymph and I lost the first one to a tree on about cast three, after that I was a bit more careful. I saw a few fish rising in the first half an hour. I fished nymphs without success until lunch when I noticed some fly on the water and changed to dry fly for the afternoon. Three very small wbt fell to a parachute Adams and one to a olive quill CDC, all safely returned, suddenly I'm a river fisherman! Secluded, peaceful and challenging everything I wanted, a great day.

Weather cloudy and temperature 18 deg C water .7m and steady, clearing from a beer colour. Looked good for salmon and so it proved, landing a 5lb grilse cock fish at about 11.45 from the stump opposite pub. Fish taken on single hook black FC with gold blade. Hook detached easily and fish returned safely.
No other fish seen up to 2pm when we had to leave. Sadly John Lewis fished hard for 3 hrs with no result. He deserves one for his efforts but has not had any luck landing fish hooked, some of decent size.
Left the water to SM with the hope he does well this afternoon.

Had another great day at this gem of a lake. Was blowing a hoolie when I initially turned up which made the top end fishable opposite the culvert and with intermittent sun coming through the low clouds, caught on my home tied flash back PTN and bibio variants. There were some savage takes by the usual fiesty black finned brown trout and with the high winds only fished a team of two during the six hour fishing session. When the wind did drop slightly, the fish moved up and takes were good in the wave. As usual had a fun time at this marvellous location and caught eight beautifully marked brownies , all quickly released to fight another day !!!!!!!! M
ay just squeeeeeeeeeeze another session in at this special Llyn before the end of the season, as usual thanks for a smashing day Llyn Bugeilyn !!!!!!!!!
