River low and clear and cold. We all fished lower beat only one bite between us at dusk. Have fished here before so know how productive it can be but conditions were wrong. Will come back in the summer.

River was low, bright sunny day but hey, how often do you get a chance to fish such a desirable river with a great reputation. My previous visit to Courtfield had resulted in a blank! Fished the woods section from the start (5 different swims), got yakking with the land owner who gave some sound advice, not least, stay until dusk and you will reap the rewards. Tried a few methods and baits, in the end halibut pellet with scalded pellet and hemp ground bait in a feeder paid off. A 3ft twitch kicked the rod into life at 6pm, resulting in a fun perfect "bar of gold" coming in at 9lb 6oz. 10 mins later and a 7lbish, I didn't bother weighing it as I wanted to cram as much action in as possible in the fading light. Headed back to Brum a happy fella! Beautiful scenery, truly un-paralleled! Thanks WUF....and the landowner!

River low and clear with bright weather, all fish caught on pellet. This venue never fails to produce fish and is so well maintained by Colin. He joined us for a chat in the afternoon and gave us a few tips, such a nice fellow!

Sadly no salmon caught, just a couple of trout returned safe, one a decent size. Eyes bigger than their bellies. Saw a large salmon jump in the Edw pool, the largest I have ever seen jump. Better luck next season.
Two canoeists spoilt the tail of the pool I was fishing, by allowing their dogs to swim in the river. Must have been locals as they had 3 Labradors.

Very tough day - the advice about the wading being difficult was certainly correct! Appeared lifeless for the first couple of hours (arrived just after 12) but then suddenly fish started rising. One grayling took a dry Grayling Steel Blue but came off and the fish then always seemed to remain just out of reach. Beautiful spot - we will return!

A very pleasant day fishing in superb surroundings. We all started off the day in the woods and further downstream and caught steadily thoughout the morning using pellet and feeder tactics.
The afternoon was spent fishing the croys in the top field which was alive with small chub and dace, a good sign for the future. We spotted a fishing masterclass from a couple of kingfishers which had me putting down my rod to watch and marvel at. Best barbel was around 9lb ish and best chub 2.5lb.
As usual great service from the booking office. Many thanks.

Fished a relaxed afternoon session in low clear water. Leaves starting to drop but the weather was still quite warm. No fish seen other than a lively trout. I wish the salmon well over the next few weeks and here's to continued recovery in 2016.
