This is our second visit this year and anther fantastic days fishing with 27 fish caught all on dry fly I must say some thing about the farmer in a white Land Rover who shut the gate so we could not open it the gate was open when we drove down to the lake he did on purpose he knew we where there he could see the car down by the boat house we had to lift the gate off its hinges and put it back on so other anglers need to be aware of this

Bright sunny day at Sugwas with low water conditions. Chub were on and off throughout the day but the Barbel were not interested all day, even at dusk they refused to bite.

Very slow day, in previous years we caught many more here, we used open end feeders with various hook baits, but it just wasn't our day.

Very tough going, we only managed two 4" trout in the evening. Lots of sizeable trout playing and jumping but despite a fairly decent hatch of sedges and a few olives nothing was feeding. The two trout were caught on an elk hair emerger and another lost on a nymph.

A halycon afternoon spent on this tributary of the upper Wye. Didn't connect with any fish but this was probably the result of having to limit our fishing to early afternoon with bright sunlight, no breeze and fairly low water conditions. I can see it is classic grayling water, with a deep channel opposite the main gravel island, shaded with overhanging trees. Would definitely like to return to this water when timings and maybe water levels more conducive.

One brown trout of about one and a half pounds taken on a sinking line using a bead head nymph near the bridge pillars/stream inlet. Saw/heard many surface takes but only managed a single fish during separate sessions of about two hours each per day.

Fished the evening session with very few risers early on and only a few delicate tugs on the nymph. Last hour produced more surface activity and rising fish usually induced to take (if I could cover them tight under the banks). Two trout 6 & 8 inches to an CDC dry and a small parachute midge.
