Arrived at the venue at 7:30am to find the river up some 1 - 1.5 foot and coloured. During the course of the day the level dropped considerably and the water cleared (but not completely). From both a salmon and trout perspective the conditions as the day progressed looked ideal. We concentrated on salmon fishing in the morning landing a few trout that took size 12 doubles. In the afternoon the trout became very active and were taken on both dry fly and nymphs. A lovely beat to fish with varied water and I shall return next season to fish for trout.

River high and coloured after heavy rain. Canoe's only seen on water's surface. A lovely fishery will return hopefully with better river conditions

First time here for me - I usually crawl around tiny streams. River high, fast and dark causing difficult access and wading from this bank. Weather poor. But big bright heavy nymph paid off and took some good fish from 1 to 1.5lbs - dropped a couple of big beasts too prob because I bullied them too much in the fast water and couldn't chase. A couple of smaller fish were unexpectedly seen rising through the murk and took a pale watery. Very pretty and fit fish. Satisfaction rating high! Oh yes - one small fish from a feeder stream.

Did not see one fish over 2cm move all day despite good conditions. Seeing kingfishers and dippers was some consolation. Easy access and wading made for a relaxing day.

First visit to this picturesque beat. Upstream swims were unfishable due to anglers on opposite bbank but we managed to find a couple of suitable swims. Weather good with no wind. Two PB's with two Barbel both dead on 8 1/2 lbs, for my brother and son, so the beers were on me.
