3 Browns caught around middle of beat. Largest one taken (approx 12") others returned. Nymphs and small goldheads, not too much on the surface. Love this beat, great variety of water.

I found getting into a position to fish for trout and grayling quite difficult throughout most of this beat. In fact I found access to fishing very difficult. The river was not swollen I thought the level looked about perfect with the flow clear and just touching the green bank-side vegetation in a few places. On the other hand it's probably a very good place in which to be a grayling.

Low water levels. Sunny and warm day. Feeder fishing. Dawn produced most bites/fish. Beautiful stretch of river. Thank you.

Very good conditions, warm, overcast and damp. A good hatch of large lake olives, trout taken on a variety of flies - large dry sedges and muddlers, damsels, buzzers and traditional wets such as kate Mclaren and black gnats - very good fishing!

Arrived early to look at the shallows down past the bridge and all were a little too low and lots of weed. Decided on the second swim up from the bridge and had 3 chub and 3 barbel about three quarters of the way across in the deeper water. Towards the end of the day I tried the second swim in from the entrance near the tree and had another chub followed by a barbel. All chub were between 1 and 3 pounds (estimate) and the barbel up to 9.5. Found that the two that were around 7 and 8 fought the hardest. All caught on feeder and pellet.

Interesting water, apart from a little bit of action between 11 and 12,30 it was quite quiet. Lots of good spots though in a very beautiful part of the world. We will be back. 3 fish caught on tiny klinkhammers and 2 to small nymph.

Fished a variety of dry flies and nymphs. Plenty of wbt seen, unfortunately none caught. Caught 3 grayling at end of session. Beautiful beat, thoroughly enjoyed the day and will be returning in the future.

River was low and very clear. Had 2 nice grayling fishing nymphs, some small trout seen rising but they were very shy and spooky in the clear water. Only managed one small trout
No sign of any salmon. Saw a mink at the top of the stretch.

Another new beat for me after lower carrots yesterday. After a delayed start began fishing in the field below the orchard in a swim slightly above a big house on the opposite bank which turned out to be quite snaggy and eventually managed to catch 4 big chub all over 4lb an 8lb+ barbel and a shad that grabbed my pellet hook bait on my final retrieve which was a first for me after never even seeing one before. A very enjoyable day in beautiful country side and once again a big thank you to W.U.F for making it all possible.
