Conditions reasonable but a bit bright for most of the day.
Very few mayfly about and even fewer rising fish. Fished for the 'mayfly experience'- didn't happen.

Steady mayfly hatch from 11am kept the trout rising till 6pm. Fine plump wild fish from 6 to 13 inches.

Caught 4× 10 inch brown trout on gold head nymph. The water level was high with brown tint.

Brilliant day. Weather, setting and hungry feisty trout.

Catch return here also for LLwyn On on Sunday 7th June where I had 1 x 4 fish ticket. Caught 2 but left mid day.
Usk fish are far more energetic for some reason than those in Llwyn On yet I understand they come from the same source for re-stocking.

Beautiful beat but a bit too high for Salmon on the fly and certainly too windy. Was 2 foot on the WUF gauge and 1.2m on EA gauge for Salmon on the fly. Not sure I understand that. Persisted with the fly but should have spun it. Saw one salmon in the bathing pool half way across. I trout decided to nail the tube.

Very enjoyable days fishing, a nice change from fishing the Usk. From noon onwards there was a steady hatch of a variety of upwings and a few Dancia. Stuck with a size 16 Elk hair caddis that did the trick when presented well. Stayed in the VW van at Court Farm camping field, LLanthony the night before, waking to a glorious morning and a lazy breakfast.

9lbs Salmon had it on a Silver Shrimp at 7am.
