First time in this beat. Water low rocks very slippery. Fished ptn under a caddis. Caught 2 on nymph and 1 on the e/h caddis. No other rises seen. Arrived at noon left for upper longtown at 3.

Arrived 3.30 ish. The odd fish rising in the deeper pools. Used nearly every fly in my box with no interest and then tried a large Adams which did the trick with 4 nice decent size WBT. Not a lot of water up there.

A lovely day at Hundred house with plenty of Mayfly and rising Trout. All fish caught on dries, nothing big but great fun on light tackle.

My first visit to this lovely brook. The water was quite low and very clear, coupled with the bright sunshine made for a challenge! There was so much life in this river, fish fry, dozens of hatching insects including mayfly, many birds, just a wonderful place to be. Took three trout on upstream nymph (gold head hares ear) and three on dry fly (small black parachute) the biggest 18" and all very fat and healthy.

4 x trout 6-12 inches, size 18 Griffiths Gnat. I fished during the afternoon just between the two bridges (the bottom field) and hoped for some mayfly action. Instead, the trout were affected by "persistent black gnatitude" and generally the river was rather quiet except for the odd fish rising in glides.

Lovely warm summers evening. Just fished for a few hours late in the day. Large hatch of mayfly and several fish rising. Missed several and lost a few flies in the bushes. Caught a small brown trout and a beautiful grayling.
Wonderful and magical stretch of river. Waders a must.

Plenty of flow but a little too much colour in the water. First visit so not most productive of afternoons, but much potential in the beat. The "Island" looked most promising, but I doubt anyone has fished it for a while....machete tactics required to even get to see the water, let alone get to it!
One small trout to show for the effort, but one silver fish showing in the top of the pool. Pleasant afternoon and family enjoyed pottering about too, exploring the church and arriving at the river just in time to doubt the veracity of my trout!

A first visit and indeed a very scenic beat. The chocolate brown river didn't quite compliment the setting though. Two shad hooked and lost - spirited fighters aren't they. One possibly two salmon seen leaping but failed to trouble the score cards sadly. Will I return...that I'm very sure of but timed slightly better! Thank you regardless to you all the same.

Weather clear and sunny with slight upstream breeze. Water quite brown. flat waters were murky. Brecon level = 0.31.
Should've done better but could not find the touch. Found plenty of fish and hooked 8 but lost them all before the net.
I advised one canoeist that he was out of season and that there was hardly any water anyway. I can't believe some people. Still, he was polite and did leave the water - after I stood and watched him for a while.
