Fish up to sixteen inches. The best two caught on black beaded flashback nymphs with five smaller fish on dries. I'm not sure what type of flies though. They were small brown caddis I think. River was slightly coloured but level was very manageable. Quite a nice stretch for a days fishing.

Perfect fishing conditions. River slightly discoloured. Nothing caught Saw other anglers fishing the same beat ahead of me.
WUF Note: Cefn Rhosan Fawr is mostly single bank fishing so it is quite possible that the other anglers were legitimate. That said, there have been reports of 2 anglers illegally fishing this part of the Usk (maroon coloured Range Rover). Anyone seen spinning at this time of year should be reported asap to the emergency line 0800 80 70 60.

Good flow, decent hatch of various upwings. Plenty of recently fallen trees in river which have created some new pools and features.

Fearful of the forecast or more rain and high wind and having seen the colour of the Wye, I was not expecting much, but found the river clear, the sun shining, the water covered in every sort of fly and fish rising everywhere. Had great fun fishing small mayflies, only managing to get 5 fish to hand, lost a couple more and could not count the number of fish I rose, it seemed that every turn of the river held fish. All 6-10 inches and returned.
