A beautiful spot but fly life was poor, certainly I expected it to be better. Predominant hatch was midge and they were not being taken until later on about 6ish when I took the two grayling on an emerger midge both around 8 inch.

River was low and quite clear. Caught on groundbait feeder and various pellets and meat. Canoes/kayaks were a real problem, lost count how many times they caught my line.

Found the fish in the pacier water off the island but only once the canoes had dissapeared. Bit slow on pellets but went mad for luncheon meat after the sun went down.

First time on this very pleasant stretch. Conditions were warm, the river low and very clear. The chub fishing is clearly very good, but only one barbel caught. I am not sure how prolific they are in this particular stretch.
I would certainly fish here again.
