Really good to be back on the W Court's beats. Chose beat 4 to have a go for the pike. Started off with a couple of hours on the lures without any joy, not even any follows. The river was in great condition - clear and just up a little. Then the heavens opened up just as the forecast had said so it was time to put the brolly up, fish a deadbait and get out of the wind and rain. I fished on until the end of the day with no takes at all so Mr Pike won today. I bet as soon as I packed up he moved in and picked up the free offerings!
Met a fellow angler, Cliff. Nice to have met you. Looks like you made the right choice and we'll have that coffe and a chat another time. It's really nice to see the catch reports of pike being caught or seen.
Many thanks Terry, the fishery's looking great!

Only the one bite all day, just as it was getting dark. Unfortunately came off :(
Oh well, that's fishing! At least it was a nice day. Good stretch though, have caught every other visit, particularly good at the top end by the woods.

12 x grayling 10-15 inches, 1 x out of season trout 9 inches, trotting. A midday session in the rain, initially taking quite a while to find a shoal. The action ended abruptly as the river started to rise and colour.

Fabulous conditions now. J levick tried for pike on Saturday and missed a huge fish which followed his lure on beat 5. Sunday a superb day again - 1 kelt about 5lb and a very fat pike 42 inches long weighing 22lb 6 oz from beat 6. All looking very pretty now after the numerous work parties Tim Kelly has hosted.
