A short, shallow stretch. We fished the two holes, one central from the right bank above the rock ledge, me 4 barbel, and one on the left bank below the rock ledge, BB 2 barbel.
Because of the full sun on the water we waited until the evening but in the four hours had a really good time and were sorry to pack up as it got dark.
Thanks to DB for the info of where to fish above the tree.

6 Barbel, 5 Chub

Hot and sunny with a low river was always going to be "rock hard." Four of us fished many swims all day with very little success.
The lower length of this fishery is seriously overgrown with head high nettles and very poor access. As there is no vehicle access here we would have thought WUF could have created at least a small trail for the more intrepid angler. I mentioned this to Adam Fisher but was told "no one goes down there so we dont bother". Maybe people would if it was a little easier?

5 Barbel, 2 Chub

Three juvenile trout (returned), all on wet fly. Weather conditions were challenging; some surface activity on dawn rise, plus significant activity on evening rise at lower beat boards.

Weather very warm. River fairly low. Quite a lot of dogs and folk swimming in river. Enjoyable but no catch. Many thanks.

Fished all day no bites, tried pellets, corn, meat. Very
hot, car recorded temp of 37 degrees! Glad the air-con
works. Lovely day out, unfortunately no fish 0n my birthday.

This beat is always well looked after and not far to walk. Plenty of fish taken in the evening after a very hot day, pellets again in the deeper water. A very good day, always plenty of places to fish, thanks.

6 Barbel, 8 Chub

Only 1 barbel and 1 chub on what proved to be a difficult day which we put down to the low river and hot sunny weather.

Very hard conditions, steaming hot and low river combined.
We only caught 1 barbel and 1 chub. But the Barbel weighed 9 pound and was in mint condition. Still a very enjoyable day.

Awesome setting, easy directions and access. Saw a complaint about the track being overgrown, I'm shaking my head. Plenty of barbel caught through the day. Thank you.

20 Barbel

River low and bony, saw loads of fish specifically Grayling but very hard to catch and not interested. Trout very small, beautiful river.
