Again very cold, minus 2 when arrived, fished until 3.15pm but no bites at all. Had a chat with Colin who was very helpful but the weather was against me. Will return.

Enjoyable day's fishing in cold, bright conditions on a very attractive beat. River running fast and quite clear. Bites hard to come by but I caught two smallish but beautifully conditioned Grayling, one 10.5" & one 9" long, to float-fished maggot from two different swims upstream of the access bridge. Good views of Kingfisher & Dipper added to the day's enjoyment.

Very cold, tried a few likely spots but the grayling seem to be shoaled up somewhere else. Nothing caught.

Very cold day. Two anglers found that new breathable waders are not so good on a freezing day like this one.
Long search for the grayling and the old neoprene clad angler found them at just after 3pm behind the church, catching seven before packing up at 4pm. Best fish about a pound or so.

Beautiful day. However, very cold and the temperature never rose above zero. River was very high. Started fishing at noon. Never saw any sign of fish. Prospected for a few hours using the duo method with no success. The point fly varied between shrimp, grhe and ptn.

A tough but enjoyable day for my return to Sugwas. Very bright and frosty with the levels up a few feet and running clear and quite cold. Fished 4 swims for one Chub around 2.5lb on crust/cheesepaste.

The river was swollen and sub-zero temperatures meant I had to de-ice the rod rings every few casts.
My guest had cried off and so I fished alone from 10.30 - 15.30. The fishing was tough and I caught only in the slower deep water towards the middle of the beat. As ever, wading was difficult but particularly so in the high water.
I fished two heavy bugs (3-4.5mm beads plus lead under bodies) as deep and slow as I could. Success came when I managed to fish the flies at the desired speed (which, with the amount of water in the river, wasn't easy).
Grayling ranged between 12'' and 15'' and I caught several (unexpected) small OOS trout.
