Lovely beat with plenty of pegs, however there could be lots more cracking pegs dug out without too much effort.
Weather all over the place with sun, rain and wind, usual methods tried. 3 barbel in total, 1 very small at about a 1lb, 1 about 4lb and 1 about 7lb. Nothing else apart from a dozen very small chub and dace on the stick float on sweet corn.
The whole river is fishing bad at the moment and this stretch is no different. We fished from 8am until 6pm all for 3 bites between us!!!
Will return when the river picks up as it's stunning with buzzards, kingfishers to keep you interested while the tip never moves!!

Beat:Court of Noke

Fishing:Winter Grayling

No. of Anglers:1

Had a short session on 5th Oct and lost a large grayling on a red tag having changed from nymphing after a savage take on the red indicator. Went back to same pool for a brief visit on 7th Oct - after heavy rain river only up a couple of inches but very coloured and full of debris. One small grayling in faster shallows on sparse nymph pattern.

After 2 bad days we hoped things would get better, how wrong we were, 3 anglers fished all day and we worked hard at it but not a single touch. All very disappointed. River low. It was an overcast morning but sunny afternoon. Used all the normal baits and tricks. See Thomas Wood and How Caple Court for previous two days. As stated before, investment into accessing swims would help.

Warm and sunny conditions which felt like August rather than October. The river level was steady for the first 3 hours then rose 8 inches during the next 3. Lots of weed coming down the river made it difficult to keep the feeder out. 1 Barbel (8lb 4ozs) and 3 Chub (3lb each). Barbel taken on pellet; Chub on meat. Fished in first field opposite the willows.

A Cock of 9.5 pounds fished on fly( Willie Gun) on the Withey pool.
I saw a Cormorant.

08/10 on the Rectory beat. Upper part is not accessible and has to many brambles. We were very disappointed about this.

WUF Note. The named salmon pools are all fishable on the Rectory. The section from Bridge pool to Ty-Mawr does not hold salmon and no effort is made to make it accessible

Only managed an hour on the water, but the 2nd lie covered produced a very coloured 10lb cock fish to a size 8 Bann shrimp fished on a fast sinking sink tip. River at 1ft 5" and still pretty coloured (20" vis). Saw three other running fish. The friend who fished the rod in the morning, saw 10 in a couple of hours, but failed to get a touch.
