Difficult day! Conditions not ideal; arrived before sunrise in pretty cold temperatures. As the day went on we had bright sunshine all day. From about 10.30 the day became a total write off due to canoe traffic, making it almost impossible to fish. On more than occasion, both myself and my colleague had our gear towed away by idiots with absolutely no regard for anglers; and even less water craft. All we got by way of apology was a mouthful of abuse. This was my second experience of the Wye, totally different to first. Won't let this stop my returning; but will definitely avoid any weekend slots, outside of the winter months.
At the end of the day, the only bite of the day brought one small barbel of about 3lbs.

A challenging day with bright sunshine and low water conditions. The fish responded in a short feeding session in the morning and then again at about 4pm.
We tried several swims both in and out of the wood, however all fish came from the wooded section to pellet/feeder tactics. This section is quite snaggy and some of the swims a bit precarious if you are trying to sit on a chair !!!!!
All in all a good day.

Good colour for fishing but somewhat disappointed with this beat as mostly shallow gravel open water with no real fish holding features. Probably better in early season when more weed present and can run a float through.
Feeder fishing, then two swims on east bank(road side) probably best.
Positive is good access to water, can park near to where you fish, and countryside is very pleasant. However I personally will be crossing this off my list of WUF fisheries to visit, though seems popular with some judging by the number of well worn swims.

Very bright and warm day resulted in a flotilla the size of which had not been since the Spanish Armada. Many of the canoes were respectful of us, however, one group of males seemed to have partaken too much of what Herefordshire is famous for (Cider) and decided it would be great fun to tip all the occupants of the canoes in their party not 20 yards from one of our party. Another party of 15-20 teenagers decided on an impromptu rendition of "happy Birthday to you" to one of their particular fleet while passing through our pegs.
Fortunately this madness passed by approx 3pm and normal quiet service was resumed. After this time a few fish began to play ball and fell to feeder with pellet or meat. Lovely venue but we will only booking again midweek. The biggest barbel weighed was 9-10 oz and the others between 5 and 9lb.
