River level was pretty low, and combined with warm sunshine most of the day, made the hopes of a barbel or two very slim. With the water levels being low we chose to fish the deeper and faster flowing areas in order to try and locate the fish. This only resulted in 2 chub, with no barbel seen.

1 small dace, 1 small chub... emphasis on small here. River very low. Mr Richards the farmer has had an operation to tackle his hip, so walked around.

Wonderful day on the water. A still beautiful autumn day reaching 21 degrees C at 1pm. Exceptionally low water, but a good hatch of upwinged mayflies and other small chironomids. Grayling rising all day. 30 grayling and 10 trout caught between us including three 2lb grayling and a 1.5lb brown trout. Kingfishers, autumn leaves and a pleasure to be alive in the autumn!

Great day on the Edw. Good LDO hatch most of the session which seemed to have switched the fish on. 14 wbt to 10" (most 5"-7"). All on an Adams or CDC Emerger. Lost as many due to barbless hooks and fish taking to the skies rather than diving deep in the absence of normal water levels.
Surprisingly open beat given the angler is under canopy for the most part. Just fished the lower section for 4 hours. Combined with the top section this beat offers a full day's fishing, sensible parking, easy wading and plenty of wbt. And all for a tenner!

First time on the foundation waters, a great days sport. Two fish on nymphs and two on emergers. Entry to the beat as per the map a bit of a jungle, but easy access via the public footpath on the other side of the river. Excellent hospitality and food in the Cammarch!

Lots of small fish caught trotting maggots by both of us. River low and a lot of canoe traffic. Disappointing results with feeder/ledger. Lots of baits tried. Large Chub/Barbel did not show for us today, but as ever it is a pleasure to be on the banks of the Wye again.

With the conditions as they are we did not expect to much, however by 10a.m. all anglers had caught some fish. The bites did then dry up and hope was set on picking up a few Barbel at dusk, but alas it wasn't to be.
This was the first time on this beat and I have to say we were all very impressed with its beauty and obvious potential on the right day.

Water was very low, lots of cloud. Fished a dry fly all day and missed more fish than I caught. Biggest grayling was 15 inch all the way down to a little salmon par. Beautiful beat, beautiful river.
