Caught 10 fish each, all on weighted nymphs. Very bright day, no hatch and no fish rising. A very nice fishery.

First time on this river and what a stunning place to spend a few hours fishing. Fished from 11 til 3 in bright blue skies and warm sun. Lots of LDO's hatching from the off but nothing rising as I made my way upstream with a small nymph. No touches or any sign of a fish and I feared a blank was on the cards until just past the old bridge when the "rock" that I thought I'd snagged suddenly moved and jumped and shot of downstream! After a Few heart stopping moments a fine trout of 15/16 inches came to net and was safely returned. My best wild stream trout to date. Had to leave shortly after so didn't make it to the top of the beat but it didn't matter.

Pleasant afternoon - sun and little breeze. One oos grayling 10" and one trout 12" but very lean, both on ptn, saw a couple of rises but nothing to dry fly.

Great day out in the sun but alas too bright for the silver tourist!

3 wbt all returned. 1 on klinkhammer. 2 on pt nymph. 1x 1.5lb, 1x 1.25 1x 12oz. I had to work at it and found a few fish around mid pm. Sparodic hatches and rises. Not sure I totally got to grips with it as not fished this beat before. Helpful advice from booking office as ever and will mark down for future visits.

Fantastic venue, beautiful countryside. River slightly up and crystal clear all fish returned. Hooked many more fish but shook hook. Terry the gillie very helpful. Heavy nymphs under indicaters most successful method.

Fished early morning 7am-10:00, a bit suicidal given the temperatures, no fly life except small midges, no fish moving. I think the water temperature is still too low. Many caddis larvae on the bottom.
We stayed at the Whitehouse Country Inn, literally 2 mins from the beat.

A lovely day as always on this one of my favourite beats. Fishing was tough however in the warm bright conditions, with hatches of March Browns and LDOs struggling to get going. One very welcome brown trout on nymph. Good to see David J-P again and enjoyed a good chat about river politics.

Hot and sunny! River clear, a beautiful stretch and a pleasure to fish. One trout to a nymph. Little surface activity or flies emerging.
