Nice fish for a few hours, but only par rising. The middle section is now over run with ranunculus leaving very little fishing water.

Found directions very good, although missed the entrance first time. Map supplied was very detailed and helpful considering this was my first river outing. Some good fish showing at Bathing Pool and Armies Pool but was down stream of these fish.
Caught two beautifully marked Browns - 8" long on DT8 floating line - Pheasant Hothead/Teal Blue and Silver. Good takes and hard fighters for their size. Look forward to returning for another great day out.

River running very low and best swims were those with flow and good weed growth. Rolling meat proved effective and it was great fun wading out to fish this method. A hot day with a lot of canoe traffic and swimmers.

Fished 6am to 10 am - Tenkara again - but should have taken fly rod. Ended up fishing small nymph under a coch y bhonddu. Lost a good grayling, then had a 6" trout. Next pool had a good trout leap out the water trying to grab fly as I was lifting off water. A few casts later had 11" trout on the nymph and then in the same pool a lovely 12" grayling on the fly.
Saw at least 5 mink - 2 adults and 3 kits. Saw adults several times - just hope it was same ones. Do WUF trap these blighters?

The Arrow at Kington is very low but there are still some holding spots for fish in some of the deeper sections; much of the beat was too slow and/or low to fish. The stretch just past the weir proved the most rewarding with half a dozen fish coming from one pool; which coincided with a hatch of small olives about 5pm. All fish taken on the surface with an 'F' fly.

Two rods fishing from Box Bridge upstream. Conditions sunny, still and warm. Traditional fly rods used, plenty of fish seen, occasional rise although could not identify what they were taking as no obvious hatch. Fish up to eight inches seen but not interested in black gnats or mayfly type flies. One six inch trout caught on a green bobber and returned. We only fished the first 300 yards of the beat. There was a lot of fallen trees and debris caught on them.

Really pleasant days fishing. Took nearly all day to 'bag up' but got there in the end. From our experience the fish begin taking in the afternoon with the mornings really slow. The fish are always super 'fit' and although are stocked from the same source as those put into LLwyn On they definitely seem fitter at Trecastle even those just obviously recently stocked. That's not just our opinion but a consensus.

Arrived at 2pm to do an evening session. Unfortunately there were large rafts of Rununculus weed drifting down the river all afternoon and evening. It was a nightmare to get any kind of presentation as each and every cast would need to be bought back in within a minute of casting due to the weed wrapping round the line and dragging everything off course. I've never witnessed this happening other than in flood conditions. Don't know where it all came from. Hoped it would stop towards the evening but didn't.
Started by the steps then went down to the woods at about 7ish and winkled out a couple of Chub to save the blank.
A real shame. Great beat, just the wrong day to be there.
Will be back in September after the summer kayak chaos ends.

River was low and clear but fished well in the morning then turned quiet in the afternoon. Most fish came to pellets feeder tactics.
