Bright sunny day, water about normal. Fished one of the only fishable places on Church Stream Pool. Car parking and access to riverbank is good. This mile long double bank beat is supposed to accommodate 4 coarse anglers but I personally feel it is restricted to possibly 2 fishable spots both on Church Stream Pool. From Meadow Fence to Foy Bridge Fishery the bank is totally overgrown without any visible access to the water. I could not see where you could enter river to wade across to the island mentioned in The Passport.

Most fish caught on feeder fished pellet from the first swim in the second field up. Moved up to the swim where a tree has fallen in & rolled a boilie down the edge of tree to tempt another 3 barbel during the afternoon. River was low & clear with sunshine all day. I was kept entertained watching chub & trout in the shallow water. Stayed at peaceful cottage near Madley for a family holiday which is very close to the beats above Hereford.

First time at Goodrich. Generally I was really pleased with the venue. First impression was that access was not good, however, once you make your way to the rivers edge, access and casting was generally possible on most pools.

The weather was probably too bright for most of the day. Even though I blanked, a reasonable fish did show in the tail of the Cottage pool, at around 11am.

WUF Note: The beat has been strimmed this weekend and the access to the pools is now clear.

Water .58m but slight colour so opted for salmon initially which was unsucessful at Top Run, Rock Pool, Chine and below bridge. Very warm and humid.
Went through Woodstream with greenwells nymph and deer hair sedge fished wet on dropper. I had two small trout about 6 oz and J landed 3 parr and one trout of 0.75 lb.
I had my fish on the dropper, J on a non weighted pheasant tail on the point.
Unable to stay through to evening.
No salmon showing.

Stunning venue and great access. Fishing was hard though with just 2 barbel and 8 chub. Very hot though. I think it would pay to move around a fair bit to find the fish.

Fished from 7am - 3pm. Beautiful day and river conditions very good. Lots of different pegs in well kept condition with easy access. Looking for barbel I used a closed end cage feeder with hemp and halibut mix with double hair rigged halibut pellet. I fished Boys Rocks and bagged 5 barbel all between 8 and 10lb, 1 chub 3lbs and what I believe to be a 2lb grilse? Lost 3/4 as well but all in all a good day. If your going fish here make sure you fish the middle to far side of the river as it is a bit rocky close in and will cost you a few quid in tackle. Looking forward to my next outing! Cheers to WUF Approved Guide Adam fisher for the info!

WUF note: This 2lbs grilse may well have been a shad. Worth a double check.

Fished two 3 hour sessions - early morning and late afternoon for an excellent day's fishing. All fish to feeder tactics using pellets and boilies with the barbel going to 8lb and four of the chub over 5lb. First time on this small beat and whilst swims are limited they are easy to fish with the water at it's current level. Many thanks for a good days fishing, good venue, information and service.
