High fast water made a lot of the water hard to get to and fish properly. Only fished for a few hrs and had two small trout on heavy nymphs.

Trout: 1 @ 8" & 1 @ 6". River was high and slightly coloured.

Cloudy water still but clearer sky warmer day than yesterday. Still 5x Brown Trout from half pound to a pound.

1 brownie caught on bubble and worm, about a pound in weight, returned. Lost a rainbow at the bank whilst spinning, too slow with net! Weather good.
Looked like 4 cormorants out in middle, constantly diving for fish. I think they were cormorants, head and necks looked like periscopes in the water, diving under for about 20 secs then surfacing a fair way from where they dived.

Great day fishing. Weather was brilliant, water had little ripple to it. Used both dry fly and worm.

I fished for a few hours in the afternoon and caught one nice fish just over a pound. There were a few fish moving but conditions were fairly horrible with the wind and rain.

When I was grabbing ?unch from the car my rod was taken from the river bank. Don't leave anything unattended.

1x 12 oz., 2x 8oz., 5x 4/6 oz., all fish returned. All on dry mayfly, barb rubbed off so almost barbless. Many rises.
Tricky river to fish especially when full water.

All fish returned, (8" long superb condition), caught using a gold head nymph cast up stream, water dropping after flood.
