A slow day with very little moving. The fresh downstream breeze not helping matters.
I caught a few small fish on a variety of nymphs but the only fish worthy of mention was a 1lber caught behind the waterfall near the iron ladder.
Fished the lower beat 9am - 1pm then moved location to the top beat. Had a look at conditions but decided against getting my rod back out.
All fish returned to the river safely.

Fished for Salmon at Chainbridge with some freinds, no luck despite some good advice from Barry. The river height dropped over the day but remained fairly coloured.
We stayed at the Olway in Usk. Good as ever. Hope to return later in the year.

An encounter with a concealed stone the evening before had destroyed 2 tyres, and most of this day was lost. However, the hour I had produced one trout of about 10 inches to very heavy nymphing in the channel at the bottom end. Very pleasant beat, will be back next year.

After 10hours rain yesterday river was still high and coloured in the morning but fined down by 6pm to make it worth a go. First cast produced a fish but it was tricky and made wading awkward. Fish caught on Adams and sedge (with last cast about 8.30 pm).

Beautiful weather on a beautiful stretch of river. Unfortunately the rain that should have finished the day before had stayed until that morning and the river was a brown soup. Waited a few hours and fished as the water was just starting to clear. A few mayfly about but no fish rising. 4 trout caught on spiders. I'm sure this would have been much better had the river been clear.

River dirty after previous day's rain. Enjoyed the sport, saw a few fish rising but impossible to catch!

Our group of 4 Rods met up with The Fishing Passport's approved Instructor Justin Connolly at Glanusk for 4 hours of Spey casting tuition.
We fished on for 3 hours into the evening, the water was still coloured but it was time well spent on the river practicing the casting, but no fish caught.
Many thanks to Justin for an excellent 4 hours, we all
learned a lot. Hope to come back later in the year.
