River was certainly up a few feet with colour since my last visit in September with a lot of debris. The fishing was disappointing on the whole but I guess timing is everything like all rivers at this time of year. 2 chub, 2 eels and lost a very good barbel at dusk.

River level dropping and not quite so coloured after the recent rain, but still pushing through. After changing swims and settling down during the afternoon, finally got some action with 5 barbel all of the 6-8lb size, plus 2 decent chub one of which was 5.2lb. All taken on pellet feeder tactics.

A couple of very coloured salmon seen at top of beat and in the tail of Glasfryn. Fished majority of the salmon pools and managed twice through a couple. One convincing pull. Grayling to 1.5lb all from Glasfryn in an hour in middle of day on tan klinkhammer and red tag.

This was the final day for the 3 of us, of a 3 day trip. We have been trying to get a first Barbel for one of our number for over a year and with the conditions being fairly bad we didn't hold out much hope. But with an hour and a half til sunset, SH caught an absolutely pristene 5lb'der on meat, that made the trip worth while :) The 2 Chub were also caught on meat, and the bits were caught on maggot. Thanks WUF. We'll be back!

Having been washed off the main river, WUF were fantastic in their efforts to find us some fishable water and we ended up at Luggsbridge on the Lugg. A delightful stretch that reminded us of the rivers we fished in our youth. Nothing would come to large baits, but we did have some great sport on maggot with Dace, and Chub to 3lb.

River was about 4 foot down on previous day. Looked ideal but could only manage 4 chub all day. Moved further down from to the bend but same result. Nice weather, no rain.

Quite a lively day, weather wise. River still high, so fished the 1st swim on the opposite bank all day (the other swims would have all been a bit tricky with the elevated level). Managed 3 barbel during morning and early afternoon. Fishing in the last few hours became very difficult with all the leaves etc being blown in by the gale. All fish caught on ledgered pellet. Another thoroughly enjoyable day on a lovely stretch.

Very difficult day for a River Wye novice especially running so high - not surprising the day after a Hurricane but still trying for my first Barbel.
Will be back next year to try again.
