First visit to this water. Walked the fishery, but water a bit low for most of middle stretch - ended up with all of us fishing the swims below Boys Rock, they looked great but nothing feeding, even at dusk. The solitary fish taken was shortly after we arrived, and that was it.

A slow day, the river had obviously dropped a couple of feet but was now holding at a low level.
A nice 9lb Barbel caught within the first hour but nothing else until last light when a 4lb chub landed. Not the best day but still a nice accessible stretch. Thanks to Don for advice.

Chub to 4lb came to maggot feeder, bites sporadic. One brownie, 1.5lb on same tactic. Two barbel in last hour of light fell to fish-based boilie.
Had to work for the fish but very enjoyable day with mild weather of sun and showers.

Great booking service again. We arrived to a dull windy day, water a lot colder now and lots of leaves. Fished for about 5 hours, sun came later and wind dropped. Had several takes and two nice Grayling followed by a 12 inch Trout, all returned unharmed.
Little scruffy wet flies with a touch of colour worked again here, had a wonderful day.
Parking excellent and river access fine.
Thank you

Scenic location, shame about the fishing! Windy conditions and lack of knowledge of the most appropriate flies did not help. The beat is short, suitable only for one rod and a bit over-rated. I did not get a touch all day.

Lots of sun, clear water 4C-10c on car computer. No flies, no trout seen, no salmon seen. One expensive picnic!

Lovely day's fishing with almost exactly the same result as when we fished this beat last year - a good-sized and fairly fresh hen salmon at about 6pm. It was caught on an ally's shrimp or something resembling that and was about 8lbs. River level was very low and things had not look promising in the morning. However, we started catching trout in the afternoon and then the Salmon at the end of the day in one of the pools at the bottom of the beat. The river is very well-mainatined here and particularly beautiful. Good pie at lunchtime in the Nantyffin pub down the road too.

Arrived at 8am with the river steady at 0.56m on the gauge. The predicted Arctic blast was under way with a strong downstream wind making casting challenging.
Saw a small red grilse then a larger specimen head and tail on Rock whilst tackling up. A 13lb colouring cock fish accepted my Golden Killer and was safely returned after a lively 15 min fight.
Persisted until 4pm in dazzlingly bright conditions and a strong northerly wind but didn't see another fish. Left for a warming cup of tea, once again counting my blessings.
