Nil return. River very low, hardly clearing the falls at top of the beat, but also a bright day. Plenty of salmon par, but only encountered one trout rise, fish size less than 50mm. Lower part of beat best, due to the growth of brambles, it was necessary to wade long distances (lack of exit points). Slight interest in an Adams but gold head best.

14 of the fish caught with 1 rod in the fast flowing
At the start of the beat (waders needed). All fish
caught on halibut and feeders. This is a long walk
and don't like the fact that Courtfield is opposite.

Weather was hot and sunny with a slight breeze, river was slow to medium flow and was approx 3ft deep between the road bridge and cottage. Using a small fly rod and black gnat fly, caught three trout in a small eddy (L/H/S WITH FLOW) and caught my grayling at the bottom of a small rapid. All fish weighed approx 1.lb to 1.1/2lb, all fish were retuned unharmed and immediately. Had a fantastic days fishing, sorry its taken so-long to reply as I did not realise I had to report my catch. Many thanks. Trout were brown.

A pleasant day spent nymphing, but no fish. One or two good sized fish observed from the bank, but not in places that it was possible to get in position for. Rose one small fish to a dry.

Day two of my three days on this section. Caught my first wading, long trotting barbel on the Wye, what a delightful way of fishing. Caught two more and lots of chub before returning to the feeder and ended the day with 14 barbel and 24 chub.

A misty start followed by a warm, still day. River very low and clear. Four browns (10-12 inches) from the deeper faster pools on gold-head GRHE nymph, and one lovely 2lb (18 inch) brown on a dry (CDC Compara). Five fish in total; no grayling. Some big browns seen in shallow runs. A beautiful beat. A morning session.
