A delightful stretch of water which I selected in the hope my dad would catch his first barbel but the fishing was slow with only a couple of chub falling for meat that had to be bounced in the flow (they weren't interested in the static bait). 2 barbel came out at the top of the beat early evening around the 8lb mark. A great venue that I know produces quality catches on its day.

Great days fishing, 16 x chub to 6lb 7oz and 11 x barbel to 10lb, all fish taken with feeder on meat or pellets.
The river was in excellent condition and the wildlife made it a pleasurable beat to fish.
The Canoe traffic was light throughout the day with the exception of two clowns in an inflatable with an outboard motor going through noisily churning up all the weed in the afternoon. We only left when it got dark!

River was falling after a rise, was still quite coloured, which made wading a little more difficult. Tried, floating, intermediate and sinking tips with a variety of flies. Also fished downstream and across spinner, again with a variety of lures.
Saw plenty of trout, also saw an Otter whilst fishing the Hut pool.
Lovely stretch, good access, will return for another go, maybe take the trout rods next time too.

A great day on Saturday - fair bit of water running off the Beacons from Friday's downpour and water fairly brown in the morning before clearing around lunch. Very light intermittent drizzle in the afternoon which brought the fish on - missed a 1.5llb on the run before Vicarage pool and touched another four smaller fish or so. Took one 0.5lber. Beautiful setting and the wading was manageable even with a good current.

3 rainbow trout caught on spinners all returned in excellent condition. Took a walk up to far end of the lake and found what looked like some sort of poaching device with elastic tied to a stick under a rock at the water`s edge which we cut. Also lost around 4 other fish.
