Started at 6.30am Barbel. Form the first cast sport slowed as the sun got higher around 10.30am so trotted a stick float in some fast water and had 8 chub to 4lb on sweet corn. Returned to original spot after cloud cover arrived and had 3 more barbel, the best was the last fish that was 9lb 3oz. Another good day.

Got one of about a pound late evening, then lost a big one (broke me - incompetence). Plenty of good fish and evening fly (caddis, stoneflies, small 'crippled' mayflies especially) around, though trout both shy and finnicky.

Didn't look very promissing as a bit slow and no obvious features on the upper section, didn't walk very far as it was too hot!
I had 6 barbel and 5 chub plus an eel. All on corn/timebomb with 4mm pellet and hemp in feeder. All fish from the middle of the river. Fished from late morning to 6pm. Could have been a lot more if I had started early and finished late.

Pleasant days fishing, road down to the river is very over grown. The river is low found it difficult to find the fish in a couple of deeper runs.
Talked to a couple of guys fishing further up stream. Same story, water low, barbel not showing.
Catch, best fish Chub 5lbs 6oz, 4 other chub between 4.8lbs and 3.6lbs.

Water low, hot sunny day. Had a few pulls, 3 small trout, some better fish seen in the clear water! Threw everything at them, will try again. Had a great day in wonderful place.

One mayfy and sporadic olives. Small elk hair caddis no rises. Only half beat fished so spent time just observing. A lot to learn after the Clywedog (will try again). This beat has so much space!!
