Conditions were awful. Heavy thundery rain (following 30 degree heat the previous day). River had risen about 6 inches by the end of the day.

Many thanks for a great day on a beautiful stretch of water (and another at Cefnllysgwynne). And thank you for a highly efficient service that is very easy to use.
I caught the trout (all between 3/4 and 1lb) on micro-klinkhamers during the day (nothing bigger than a 22) and a small elk hair sedge in the evening. All wild and exceptionally beautiful. None kept. But the real event for me was the chub, which weighed between six and seven pounds; one of the best specimens of any species I've caught. A real beauty, with bright gold scales. It took a small pheasant tail nymph.
The river was at a good medium height to begin with, rose and coloured rapidly after intense rain in the morning, then mostly fell back by evening. These changes of state seemed to affect the fishing less than the weather.
We camped at Park Farm, outside Crickhowell, which was fine.
Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

Really enjoyed my day at the Rectory. The weather played ball, was expecting heavy storms but never happened. River was low but started to rise a little and colour up slightly. Decided to fish above the bridge in the morning. Had a few small trout on the long flat water and the Tail of the Rock Pool produced Grayling, pretty much one a cast for a while, once I got it right. Bumping shrimps along the bottom was pretty deadly.
Using the same method on the Bridge Pool caught me my first Barbel on a fly. No Monster, about half a pound, but very welcome.
After a couple of pints and food at The Bridge Inn I fished the lower end of the beat. Very Beautiful, challenging fishing. Not easy access in places, but that's wilderness fishing. Loved it. Caught plenty of trout, nothing massive, all about 4-8 inches. Further down saw fresh Salmon jumping around.
To sum up, a beautiful place which you will never fish all of in 1 day. Various water types, shallow rapids, long runs, and some very deep holes. Will be back.

River very low ahead of the weekend rain. One barbel of 6lb, one chub and one eel, all on pellet. Very tough going, with barbel only coming as light faded.
Why are anglers directed down an overgrown track when the much shorter route through the church is clearly marked as a Public Footpath. Anglers are members of the public too!
WUF note - This has been at the request of the owner.

A three hour evening session produced 7 wbt. Started with a single PTN then changed to a duo set-up when I noticed a few fish rising. Still, didn't catch any on the dry, all taken on the suspended nymph. Vegetation growth now making access hard work. Fished between the two bridges and packed up due to failing light and the fact that I didn't want to hook one of the dozen or so bats that were swarming around!

Hot day with the river very low, fished in the gutters by the railway bridge using a long leader and small bead headed nymph. The Grayling were all taken from the same run between 14" and 18" long. All fish returned.
Stayed at the friendly Cammarch Hotel, another enjoyable break in Wales fishing on the Irfon.

Beautiful sunny day and multiple fish caught throughout on nymphs, dries and wets. Most fish were quite small, up to 6 inches, but a few larger grayling up to 2lb and a trout around 1.5lb provided good sport.

Second day of two days. Fished the Boat Pool again and river appeared to have risen a little following an overnight thundery downpour but was dropping. Caught fish throughout the day but had to wait a long time between bites. My father caught a nice 9lb 13oz barbel, using the feeder and a long hook link, very close to his first double on the Wye, maybe next time. I moved up to the wood crib late afternoon and caught a barbel just under double. A very hot humid day and difficult conditions but enjoyable. The access is excellent, a few snags to contend with but will be fishing this stretch again.
