Area:Middle Wye

Beat:Whitney Court

Fishing:Coarse

No. of Anglers:1

Fish caught nil. Feeder fished pellets and sweet corn. Pegs hard to find, most of the stretch was unfishable as banks so overgrown and dangerous to try and access. Not accommodating for coarse angling.

WUF note: The fishery keeper has explained that Whitney Court do not have any pegs and have no plans ever to create any. There is 3 miles of fishing in open countryside which in its entirety is open grazed by livestock throughout the year. Only the left hand bank on beat 3 is fenced off to stop over grazing of the banks and there are styles and easements over the fence and river banks for the benefit of all anglers.
Contact details are on the booking confirmation paperwork and all visiting angles are invited to contact the keeper before visiting Whitney Court so that he can allocate beats and recommend pools, runs etc to suit the requirements of the individual anglers after taking into account targeted species, river heights, conditions and specific access requirements. If anglers choose not to contact the keeper then they are disadvantaged by having to find their own way around nearly 4 miles of river.

Fishing:Trout (River)

A lovely days sport with fish coming off all morning. No fish rising so all fish taken on nymphs.
Most fish 8 - 12" but had 2 x 15". Plenty of BIG fish seen throughout the beat but no takers today.
The wind strengthened around lunchtime and made things a little more difficult but by this time I'd had my fill and left about 2pm.
