Cold and wet. River in great condition but no fish showing in fairly miserable conditions. One beautiful trout of probably a little over 3/4 lb on klinkhammer.

Pleasant days fishing even though mixed weather conditions.
Unsuccessful when spinning but took three rainbows on inflated worm.

3 Trout

No fish caught. Day started wet but settled with intermittent sun and a breeze. Used a nymph to start with but changed to dry later in the day. Saw a couple of good sized rises in the run just below woods but they weren't taking. Tried grey Adams olive, and gold heads and wet pheasant tail. Still had a lovely day on a beautiful river however!

4 Trout

The promised rain didn't really arrive so we enjoyed a reasonably full day fishing this beat. The access work carried out by the volunteers is impressive. We caught plenty of fish with 3 being around 12-14" and missed quite a few snatchy bites. All came to small tungsten nymphs fished in the heads of the pools. Only saw a couple of very small fish rising despite a trickle of olives throughout the day.

10 Trout

6 x trout 8-12 inches, 3 x out of season grayling 8-13 inches, Deer's Hair Emerger. A dry fly morning under grey clouds, warm rain drizzling off and on. The rain has raised the river a couple of inches and put a little colour into it. A few olives trickling off, but no spectacular hatch.

River rather too coloured for good fishing, following persistent overnight and morning rain. Nonetheless a sporadic LDO hatch and three trout (all returned): a 13" and two smaller fish. Quite a lot of fallen trees etc making progress up the river difficult; and a real shame about all the old car bits, gas cannisters, tyres and other rubbish - all rather reminiscent of a by-gone attitude to rivers.

3 Trout

Drizzle and cool, not promising but the river did yield 4 WBT (6 - 9inches - all safely returned) to deep gold head nymph. An interesting new beat and a lot of river for your money. I did see one swallow. Looking forward to returning when the fish are rising.

4 Trout

Eleven trout, 10-16 inches, at least the same again on/off long range releases. Down stream wet fly. River coloured in the morning but clean by 1pm. Very little fly life or rising fish. Last fished this water about 30 years ago - the river has changed very little! Discovered the odd boulder mentioned in the beat description but failed to make a detour - had a 'dunk in the drink'- luckily just as I was about to finish for the day. A good Spring day's fishing.

11 Trout

First time Fly fishing and hooked something late afternoon but failed to recover. This is a perfect location for me and looking forward to my next return. Thanks to the advice to another fisherman, unfortunately I didn't get his name.
