Beat:Buckland South (R Usk)

Fishing:All Species (in season)

Caught none. No fish seen. Colour fining down until the rain from 3 o clock persuaded me to retire to the bar. Infinitely more pleasurable than work.

Beat:Backney (River Wye)

Fishing:All Species (in season)

8 Barbel from Backney up to 8Lbs on 16th July, also on trout pellet. Packed up about 5pm due to torrential rain.
Had a few Chub as well but only counted the main target Barbel. A couple of Eels about 18 inches long decided they liked pellet as well.

Beat:Lower Henllan (R33, River Honddu)

Fishing:All Species (in season)

Loads of fingerlings to about 6". Finally found two fish about 12". They seem to gobble up the Adams para's and elk hair flies. Don't think there to fussy though. Still having a great time on this river as I tend to fish it at least once a week. Always nice.

Beat:Ty-Newydd (upper Wye)

Fishing:All Species (in season)

Not a very good day. Dull and cloudy for most of the time with rain off and on. River rising slowly and rather coloured I worked hard for 4 small trout 6-8" and approx 6 parr.

However it is a picturesque beat and I'm going to come back.
