River up about 35cm from our previous day on Sugwas which was no surprise after the heavy rain over night. Having not fished this beat before it took a little while to settle and two rods had 2 Barbel each on pellet feeder using a mixture of hook baits.
Will be back again in the future and hopefully then it will be dry enough to take the car up the track.

Conditions were very difficult with the river running 5ft over summer level. In the conditions there were only a few swims available. We settled at the lower end of the beat and caught a number of barbel and chub on a variety of baits. We called it a day when the rain made the banks too dangerous. I would like to revisit this beat in normal conditions. Access was very good with only a short walk required from either parking area and the swims are clearly defined and marked.

Arrived at lunchtime and was very happy find Don near the entrance ready to point us in the right direction and give us some helpful tips. A surprisingly warm, partly sunny day and the river only rose 6 inches. 1 rod had 4 barbel (all 4-6lb) and 4 chub up to 4lb from the swim at the end of the path from Severn Trent parking bay. Other rod had 6 barbel from the swim at the end of the beat, 2 up from rod 1. All over 6lb including 2 at 7lb 10oz - one of which happened to be a first ever barbel for the angler. All caught with Ellipse pellet haired, 3-4oz feeders loaded with groundbait/hemp/pellet mix. A cracking day.

18 barbel and 8 chub all on pellet. Only 2 fished this time as 2 of the party did not fancy the trek to the fishery, but to those that did the fishing were not disappointed. Very glad that this fishery has been opened to all.

Great lunch time! And with 5 from the beat at 2pm, a terrific day for the beat.

Lost one salmon on fly in Stone Catch - otherwise nothing seen. Perhaps (because of lack of obvious holding water) this beat needs to be even higher (over 2ft), when it will become more of a spinning water?

River in best nick for a while (2ft and clear) and fished for a hour in morning and another hour in the rain in the evening. One hand shake in the Gravel Catch first up but no further action despite the other rods having fish of 15, 15, 14, 12, 10 and 9lbs. Saw one fish show.
