I think my return may have vanished into the ether, so I've done it again. Owing to transport difficulties I put vouchers into 13 beat box and walked part way down stream to fish back up to bridge. Two wbt 8 and 11 inches returned. Mosquito dry. Very hot day but v enjoyable.

Upon arrival at 9am the weather & water looked in first class condition, but it was obvious the stream had been in very heavy flood for a long time. It had risen over 5 feet! We fished from the downstream end and worked our way up. There was much fly activity on the water including waterboatmen, water skaters and clouds of black gnats. Not once did we see any rises or signs of fish activity throughout the day! We tried many dry/wet/nymph/buzzer/shrimp variations along and under tree obstructions, overhanging banks ets but to no avail. We finished fishing at 4pm with 'dry nets'. A beautiful location but disappointing days fishing!

One possible take from Lady's pool, no other salmon to report. As usual, two hours with trout rod resulted in 5 oos good size grayling and 4 trout up to 14". Plenty of shad on the beat, few Lampreys gave me a bit a fright but great day out overall. Thank you!

A very hot day but most of the beat is shaded which was a relief. 14 WBT to 13 inches and many more raised but missed/ lost. Fish looing up at last and majority fell to drowned hawthorn sitting in the surface film. Odd mssive green drake seen with a few yellow mays. Fish will sitch onto them as hatches intensify. A lot of may nymphs seen in the detrius. These fsh are in good condition and punch above their weight.
Superb days fishing in superb surroundings! Wish it was closer to home!

very bright and warm day with river running clear made it a bit tricky going but very good numbers of fish about .
Landed 12 between 2 rods and PLENTY more fish lost/missed/bungled ! 6" to 13" fish caught
Not much fly about , a few mayfly but fished klinkhammers/adams and fish willing to rise if you were stealthy.A fabulous day with a cracking river and can HIGHLY reccomend the hike up to the Bridge Inn at top of beat.We got there late in the day but was well worth it for a jar or two of the HPA ale and Glynn the landlord drove us back to the carpark spot in the dark ...what a gentleman!
ps, lot of trout rising in river next to beer garden too and one tip to get to pub quicker is when about 3/4 + of the way up the river you come across a footbridge and small map with path up to road take that and walk along road for last bit ..the river meanders around quite a bit up there!

Fishing:Trout (River)

Trout caught to 10" in fast water, upstream dry (elk hair caddis). Few trout rising despite prolific hatches. Lower section afforded good wading. Upper wooded section, very difficult to fish. Charming location and thank you WUF and Mr David Jones Powell for making this location available to visitors.
