Arrived to find the Wye very low and clear and badly in need of a drop of water. Unsurprisingly the fishing was a bit of a struggle, exacerbated by the bright sunlight, but between us, my brother and I managed 7 Barbel and I also had two eels. Biggest fish around the 6lb mark - all were in magnificent condition, long, lean, very bronze and a couple of them had the most vivid red anal fins I've ever seen, almost Rudd like. All caught on halibut pellet.

Just a quick note for anyone visiting the stretch - the guidance supplied suggests that there are two car parking areas - the choice of which one is used is dependant on where the resident herd of cows are. On the WUF map there is a suggestion that the track down to the river diverges; on Saturday it didn't and we therefore had no option but to park to the right of the hut. In conversation later with the farmer he didn't seem to mind at all and moved the herd into the top field.

Chub to about 4lb and Dace to about 12oz - too numerous to count - on float fished corn. Great fishing on this lovely beat. Fished morning and evening - I was "canoed off" between 11.30am and 4.00pm.

A good session on Saturday once the canoe traffic died down. Fished several swims in Legg Meadow and landed 10 barbel to 9.08, 4 chub to 4.12 and an eel pushing 2lb. All fish taken on elips pellet behind a feeder.

First trip to section since WUF took over and have to say banks noticeably tidier, probably due to reduced pressure. I will be back later in the year when there is a bit more water in the river.

Took a 10" trout and a 13" grayling on dry fly (Griffiths gnat) in the first hour, then struggled the rest of the day until evening. Between 5 & 6pm, got some interest from a group of grayling. Took three of them, all about 12" and lost one. Very fussy eaters though... ignored everything at size 14 ... inspected and rejected everything at size 16 ... took a size 18 klink.

Bright sunny day with water very clear, no fish rising a decent WBT seen but not caught, single dace on PTN - have to say access to water now in need of advice from Ray Mears or other jungle expert. The map provides a number of access points of which less than 30% are useable making most of the river beyond easy reach. This is a fantastic stretch of river in great need of maintenance to secure better access or provide a free machete for the £20 fee, the beat is currently very poor value for money.

Beautiful stretch of the Wye. Weather hot and overcast. Didn't start fishing untill 9.00 am had problems locating fishery shame there wasnt a small sign on track gates as we went passed gates 3 times. Two barbel caught between 6 & 7lb fish in lovely condition caught on pellat. Apart from getting lost we all had a great day and cant wait to return. Many thanks to the WUF.

Got there early and not having fished here before, settled down at the first 2 pegs (rocky platforms). I had about 10 barbel all less than 2 pound and my friend Martin had 3 chub. Saviour of the day was Don who turned up about 11 and put us right. I finished with 25 barbel nearly all to double sweetcorn. Biggest only 5 pound but lost a couple of monsters. Biggest taken out by a canoeist after 15 mins fight--cheers. Martin had 16 Barbel, biggest 6 pound on 8mm pellet.
Very well kept stretch and great service from Don.

Difficult day; water very low and fish lethargic. No rise to speak of. Two very small grayling.
