Beat:The Olchon
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
The first time I've fished the Olchon and what a sparkling brook it is. Despite quite indifferent conditions the fish came readily to a little Zelon and Elk Sedge including a good fish of some 13" from under the bridge at the bottom of the beat. Lots of fly life, good numbers of Mayfly Duns but the fish weren't on them. Lovely fishing for three hours or so produced 10 or more fish until persistent rain began to make the experience less than fun!

Thought rain would be the problem, but it was the the wind, with high waves on the water.
However, still managed a couple of trout on a black emerger. Also tried daddy, but no success.

Beat:Moor Pools
Fishing:Coarse
No. of Anglers:1
Fished both pools and caught loads of small Rudd. The top pool is now completly covered in weed and could do with some clearance work to be honest.
I would advise taking a rake if your going at the moment.
Having said that, a stunning looking fishery and saw loads of carp moving and feeding off the surface.
Will be back soon with a rake.

Beat:Glan-yr-Afon
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:2
5 fish between 2 rods, all returned. Emergers and klinkhammers were most effective during the evening rise. Many missed takes. All fish were a good average size with beautiful golden colouration to their flanks.
Murky fast water made for a tricky start after the overnight rain, but an evening rise was our saviour. 3 canoeists ploughed through the beat in the afternoon also.
