Excellent day catching barbel on the float in the only pool with some depth and flow we could find. All fish on the smaller side from sub 1lb to just under 5lb but perfect sized barbel for float tackle.
Really good day considering how low the water levels are, we feared the worst but the Wye, as ever, didn’t disappoint.

No fish caught, a few rises and one hooked but not landed on a pheasant tail.

Beautiful location and lovely owner who gave us some tips. Water level low, will definitely be back when higher and fish the fast stretch more.
Chub caught in slower upstream section in the morning trotting meat.
Other is a minnow that got stuck in feeder, fish returned safely and I’m counting it ????

Stunning fishery. The gin clear water and low levels made wading somewhat easier, but approaching a fish proved difficult. We did manage to hook a Brown Trout in a streamy run on a nymph, but after a series of acrobatic leaps it threw the hook.

River was very very low and clear, not many spots to choose from really most were too high making you clearly visible. Very slow going couldn’t see any fish on the stretch upon arrival. Fished gripper feeder with dumbell boilies. Managed two chub around 2lb. Wouldn’t book this beat again. Good vehicle access but the swims need sorting access was steep, steps have worn away and was somewhat treacherous getting to the water. Fished the first two swims all day.
