Not much action today.Apart from the Shad that is.They were all over parts of the beat today and avoiding them while fishing sub surface was difficult. I think they must have had a good feeding season at sea as the average size seems to be quite lot bigger than in recent years. 26 degrees by 2.00pm so an early finish. The other fish were small taken on spiders or nymphs.

A cracking weather forecast was promised for today and by fick they was spot on. Beautiful sunny day with a slight breeze temperature topped at 23 degrees. Trout were topping all over the res I had 2 on worm before trying the spinner on and off as the temperature got hotter the fish went off the feed, only getting bites when there was a ripple on the res. My buttie had 3 on worm and 1 on the spinner.

The NRW bailiffs came around checking rod licences it's the 1st time I've seen them on a trout res, very nice group of bailiffs pleasant polite and informative.

Weather was extremely warm and unfortunately on this occasion I did not catch. I still enjoyed a great afternoon on this beautiful stretch of the river. Many thanks.
