5 Barbel

Looked to be great conditions, but river was running through more quickly than expected and wading wasn't attempted. Difficult start for all with only one eel and one Dace landed. Round about 3ish, things began to tick over, with 3 Barbel being banked in fairly quick succession (7lb,5lb, 3lb) followed by some decent Chub (4lb+ being the largest). Variety of tactics used, Barbel fell to ledgered luncheon meat. Chub took trotted corn and meat. Would love to visit with water down a little and slightly less pace. On one swim, there was clear evidence of Pike fishing having taken place (dead Sprats), thought this wasn't allowed. One or two swims in woods hampered by snags close in. Tricky, but enjoyable.

River in good condition still carrying a tinge of colour.

Considering the hot bright conditions a reasonable day, once again thanks to the owner.

Moved a nice fish below the groyne opposite the hut around 4pm but no further action.

Lovely beat and Stefan has done a great job on the swims.All the fish to meat... best Barbel 7lb.Thanks to Stefan for the ????

ledgered pelett feeder did the trick today, loads of chub but barbel hard to find

hard going but managed a few from the top swims. all on ledgered feeder with pellets

4 Barbel, 2 Chub

lovely stretch but fishing hard...all fish came to feeder with pellet hookbait.
