Lovely morning session ,strong south westerly and some heavy rain showers but the Browns were eager for a dry fly taking the cdc/elk sedge pattern with relish in the choppy waves created by the wind.
Had a few losses and missed a few rises but ended up with 8 nice Brown trout to just over a 1lb or so but most were 3/4 lbish.
Really enjoyable few hours.

River running high but not unfishable. Most wading spots weren’t workable so a static day. Due to water colour, water height and speed of water a blank day.

Rising river, saw some grille, and a large salmon

Single trout of approx 1lb otherwise little sign of life. Water was in perfect condition, thoroughly enjoyable last hurrah for '23

Water level quite high and coloured. Caught one good brown trout about 2lb. Safely returned. Caught on NZ dropper with gold headed nymph. My first time on this beat, lovely spot. I would like to return next year with lower water levels.

Challenging conditions with around 4ft of extra water and pacy flow. Three anglers had two barbel and nine chub using peelts or meat

River was still up and pushing through so options were limited. Tried fishing out in some quiet water and had a few fish but the flow and debris got too much, so changed to fishing closer in, which produced a few more fish. Fished 3oz feeder with various hook baits
