Very pleasant day if a bit too windy for me. Nothing rising so default position is a couple of Endrick spiders. All fish caught in one area just below the pylons where the river bends and narrows before the island. Managed to achieve a first by catching a shad. Beware the route to the enclosure from the gate as you need to keep to the river edge bank. I parked and stayed by the gate and as a result walked a bit more and started at the upstream limit. Wading good and not slippery.

2 decent brown trout 14”, just under 1lb each. Caught in the afternoon between showers on a bibio over flooded grass a metre off waters edge, at the far end furthest from dam. Water level very high and quite breezy.

Fished from 2 pm to 6pm, hoping for an evening rise.

The place is not the best on the looking side, banks full of rubs carried over by the previous spates and death sheep anging , smell as well unpleasant, but is holding some really good size trouts spooky and spoiled.
Catch two around fifteen sixteen inches on a 20 hook size emergers
