River was flowing well after rainfall. Fished during frequent heavy downpours. (I suspect there's been little water in it until now.) Only fished the upper reaches out of curiosity. Very little fly life coming off. Managed to provoke one rise to a dry and a decent little fish had a go at my bright pink indicator while nymphing! But landed zero fish.
Will probably try the lower reaches for Sewin next time I manage to get up there. Lovely place to fish.

This is clearly a well looked after section. There's a wide variety of swims and access to them is generally good.
There's a short but steep climb up a footpath to get back to your car which gets the blood pumping a bit.
The lower end of the beat seems to be slightly deeper and slower whilst the upstream end is shallower and carries more pace. We opted for a couple of swims towards the upstream end.
The river held more colour than it had done in the previous few days and had also come up a bit. The fishing was steady rather than spectacular with Chub caught regularly on both straight lead and on the float. An early Barbel hinted that we might be in for a really good day but alas that was the only one.

Not the easiest access to the river with many swims overgrown never the less I did manage two Barbel and three decent Chub all on scaled down hooks and 6mm spicy sausage bellets all caught before 7.30am in the morning hardly a knock for the rest of the day. Long walk up the hill keeps you fit.

I don’t consider myself a fine weather angler but only managed 4 hours fishing in torrential rain. Lovely stretch of river, four Chub trotting two over 4lb

Well, we certainly arranged the weather for fishing again, seems the days we pick have been very wet this year. However the fish didn't seem to mind. Fish were taken throughout the beat on either upstream nymphs or spiders fished down and across.
This is a very well maintained beat with relatively easy access, care needed when wading as there are some troublesome and slippery boulders hiding away. It was fabulous to share the beat with an otter who regular showed but didn't seem to be bothered by our presence. Plenty of birds taking the flies that hatched fairly regularly but not enough to get the fish looking up. We had a great day but if we had caught everything we connected with it would have been spectacular. Nothing large today apart of a chub of a couple of pounds but plenty of half pounders that bodes well for the future.

A very enjoyable day on a smashing beat despite the rain.

Enjoyable evening session at Foy Bridge. I fished from 5 until 9.30 and used 3 of the available pegs on either side of the river. Managed to bag 7 chub, with the biggest being around 3lb. Also spotted a couple of barbel and large chub under the bridge on my arrival. Water level on the low side but plenty of small fry in the margins. Again a very nice evening of relaxed fishing.
