The Cammarch fishing is made up of one large beat, some 3¾ miles long, with two starting points. The upper reaches of the beat are classic upland stream, fast flowing over rock and gravel, while below Beulah the river is, for the most part, relatively slow and meandering. Expect some feisty wild brownies to give you a good tussle on light fly gear. Wading is necessary for most of the beat and varies in difficulty.
Ideally fished with a 7 to 8ft, 2 to 4wt rod.
There was an outbreak of crayfish plague in the lower Irfon in July 2024. Visiting anglers MUST ensure against cross contamination by approved check/dry/disinfection procedures, and importantly waders, nets and tackle should be sprayed with Virkon Aquatic Broad Spectrum Virucidal Disinfectant before and after fishing.
