Golden Grove Estate offer some of the best fishing to be had on the river Towy, and Glanyrafon beat is no different. The Towy valley is quite wide here, on Golden Grove's highest upstream beat, comprising rich pasture interspersed with occasional traditional farmsteads. Fishing and rod numbers are strictly limited on each beat, and access carefully maintained to an excellent standard. A full time ghillie is employed to show rods the fishing and generally assist (one to one guiding can be provided if required).

This beat also featured recently in Will Millard's TV series 'Go Fish', where he landed a gorgeous Sewin (ably assisted by Gillie Jamie!).

The beat rotates on a daily basis which changes at 07:00 hrs.
On the whole vehicular access is excellent, often using the disused railway and any walking is generally along grass banks and pasture.

Wading is required for night fishing and the river can be quite deep. However, access down to the riverside is usually very easy and the wading is generally excellent. The river here is wide open water on a shingle base with the occasional larger rock and mud bank. At summer levels one can usually wade across the river at selected places.

Anglers must contact the Ghillie Jamie no less than 24hrs before fishing, his contact details are issued once the booking is made.
