A beautiful 2 mile (3.2 km) stretch of single (left) bank fishing on the middle/lower river Teme. Set in glorious Worcestershire surroundings, this is a mixed fishery with the potential to catch a variety of species. For the game angler there are salmon, trout and grayling while for coarse anglers, the barbel and chub will be the main quarry, although this section of the Teme also hold good numbers of dace too.

The best of the fly fishing is found in the upstream half of the fishery, where the pace of the river is quicker. There are, however, sections of faster water further down the beat that are worth exploring too. The best of the coarse fishing is in the middle and lower sections although the whole beat.

Access to the river bank is excellent through the extremely well-maintained Newnham Farm. In dry conditions, cars are able to drive right up to the riverbank and 4x4s or vehicles with good clearance are able to drive along much of the beat’s length.

The middle/lower Teme is quite deeply set in its channel, meaning that the banks along much of the length of the fishery are steep, with the river some 20 feet below you. While you will not be able to fish the whole length of the fishery, there are places to get down to the water’s edge and the fishery owner is improving access all the time. However, care needs to be taken when accessing the river and this is not a fishery for those with limited mobility. For those wishing to wade, the riverbed is a mixture of gravel and bedrock. Care is needed as there are some steep drop-offs but otherwise, where wading is possible it is relatively easy.
