Warm and overcast with a good level and bit of colour. First time here having seen it from the Creel side. Booked two on here and two on the Creel (only 3 fished due to Covid) and swapped at lunchtime. 8 chub between the 3 that fished here (one blanked) so not the success of recent anglers, and no signs of barbel. A variety of feeder and bomb tactics employed.

Split this with 2 tickets on Foy Bridge between 4 of us. Only 3 fished due to Covid - yes it's still here and it was horrible, worse than last time! Came with hallucagenetic dreams but I had just come back from a music festival - I didn't know the Wye had 3 headed flying fish?
Overcast, warm with a good level and bit of colour. Steve fished just into the third field in the morning and blanked. PJ moved above him in the afternoon and after a blank start had a purple patch of 8 nice chub on hemp feeder and meat.

Another cracking day on Middle Hill becoming a favourite beat on the W&U books. River had dropped considerably since Sunday only about 6-8” up with a hint of colour so fairly slow in the mid part of the day. Barbel to 9lb 7oz and chub to 4lb . Be back in the Autumn/winter no doubt

5 Barbel, 11 Chub

Your literature states that wading is "as easy as it gets on the Wye"

I'm afraid I disagree.

The riverbed has many large uneven rocks, and wading is difficult, even with a wading staff.

Good river flow. Very few rises - only nymphing techniques used. Fabulous beat. Fish were all small - 8ozs and under and returned with absolutely minimal handling. We used Justin Connolly's guiding services - his knowledge was excellent and really good company to boot.
