Wished I had avoided the temptation now... not great conditions with high temperatures, bright sunshine and a painfully low river.

Fished multiple pegs with different methods for no great reward, my only decent fish came from wading the fastest flowing part which resulted in one ugly chub on rolling meat.

The river was in a sorry state - low, stagnant in places with a greenish, khaki tone and a soupy gloupy mush covering the stones. In some places it looked totally devoid of life with no weeds, insects or birds and definitely no fish moving.

Access is great and work has been done to make the pegs in the wood accessible. Pity about the fly tippers on the car park mind...

I'll be back later in the summer no doubt.

One of my favourite beats partly due to the number of swim options and consistently good catches even in the most challenging conditions. We arrived at the beat at midday and had an hour of crazy fishing with 7 or 8 fish caught in the midday sun!! Fishing was then a little slower but we managed a couple more in a couple of the top swims where the water is slightly more oxygenated. We let the barbel rest for at least 20mins before returning safely.
A really good day despite the heat, low water and high water temperature. We will be back but after it rains.

Very bright hot day, low water. Very few fish showing on the surface. Hatches also rather limited.

Great to be fishing this beat again. Fished for most of the day and into the evening about 11am to 7pm but with a decent break for much needed refreshment in Brecon! Mostly fished nymphs, down and across or New Zealand style especially on the bottom section. Tried a few dry flies as well.

2 WBT taken on weighted nymphs New Zealand style. A couple of others missed or lost as well. A good enough day and just lovely to be out fishing with a view of the mountains.
