Spent the day trotting several swims. Wye more coloured than expected for the height. Had a crazy amount of chub and one barbel between us (barbel at last light) all on the float. Great day on a great beat once again.

Nice surprise to find someone had been down and strimmed some of the swims, unfortunately the fishing was hard and we only managed three small chub.

Very hot but a bit overcast, low water. Two huge splashes indicated salmon but nothing seen of the trout!

Had a good day . It was really hot 26 c so shade was crucial. Had 1 5lb barbel, 8 chub to 3lbs and 8 eels to 2lbs but I was lucky, only one there. There’s only 2 nice swims that I could find without walking miles. Why so few swims. Shame.

What a lovely stretch to fish and with such care taken to cut all bank side vegetation making fishing this stretch a joy. Weather conditions were very hot and as expected river levels low. Lots of chub shoals could be seen throughout the day and with better conditions we could have easily caught more. Fish were mainly caught early morning or towards dusk when light levels were better. Caught on float and ledger with luncheon meat coming out on top followed by bollie.
Will def be returning later in the season.

Having not fished this beat before we walked the beat in the morning and fished in the evening. River was coloured . Viz was about 6 inches. We started about half way down the beat and fished upstream with dry flies and nymphs suspended underneath. My son Jon had a nice 12inch brownie on a snipe and purple w. We both had lots of rises but no more connections. Lot of fly life including mayfly.
