Disappointed with featureless beat other than two areas of interest. Very few fish showing, two or three all day.
Birdlife was great other than the Goosanders and Cormorants!!! Will not return.

Fishing was very slow. Seems to deteriorate each year.
Lots of silkweed coming down the river and catching on the line. In over 20 years of fishing the Wye I have never seen silkweed like that. Can only put it down to the dry summer combined with pollution.
The Wye is a shadow of what it used to be.

Very slippery, dangerous banks
Fishing Passport Note : I’m afraid that difficult access is increased when the banks are wet.

2 rods taken. River still low but freshened up by the recent rain. Weed a problem in the field over the hill so fished by the gate. Both fish caught there, on ledger and float. Slow going but a very beautiful spot. Kingfishers aplenty and massing swallows and martins.

River low, intermittent showers. We all fished with halibut paste and swim feeders from 9.00-18.00 but hardly even had a knock. Lots of silkweed.
