Was expecting more water in the river which was quite low. With the blistering hot weather I knew it would be a hard day, which it was. Only managed to connect with one good fish on the upper part of the beat but can off. Plenty off olives large/small coming off and plenty of rises on the middle flats. Didn't try to approach these fish but a better fisher would have. Nice to get out though and had an enjoyable stay in Monmouth.

Lovely sunny morning. Female otter in Rectory Pool - beautiful sighting. All trout caught on dry fly during light olive and a thin mayfly hatch.
