Lovely day, but no fish. River in spate and very muddy so didn't expect much. The trip was more a new year escape and a chance to try out new kit- on this measure, it was a great success!

Just fished an afternoon session, rained all day and river pushing through.Despite that plenty of accesable swims. Had the pleasure of seeing the otter up close and also managed to land four nice chub to 5lbs. All fish caught on feeder and boilie in various swims.

Will be back !

Tough day, first time on this beat, not many fishable swims, I'm not sure if that's because the river was so high, might be more accessible when it drops, I only payed £10 but would be disappointed if I'd payed more,it's a shame as there's a lot of river to go at just not a lot of access unfortunately when the river is high.
I did manage 4 Chub in close, the biggest weighing 4lb 6oz.

Species target - barbel
X1 barbel caught 7/8 pounds in weight a very clean healthy looking fish as you would expect this time of year. River 3 to 4 ft above normal levels and coloured . Water temp slowly rising as outdoor temperature.
Outdoor temperature + 7- 12 degrees .

1 Barbel
