Had a great day at Home fishery, the river was low and clear. All fish caught on feeder tactics, with barbel bomb feeder mix and dynamite durable halibut hookers.
Some really good size chub, quite a few at the 4-5lb mark. I was over the moon to beat my Wye PB barbel weighing 10.5lbs, nearly pulled my arm off in the fast current! I also caught one smaller barbel at around 4lbs and two more at around 7-8lbs, had 4 in total.
Can’t wait to come back to the wye for more soon!

Chub taken on bread, meat and pellet all from the same swim by the rocks in the woods, could not get a bite anywhere else, Fownhope becomming a one swim beat? Worth the fee? maybe, worth the effort? definatel not.

Our second day of fishing on the Wye and we had great expectations from this beat from past experience. It was quite a tough day again for one angler but the other one found the fish in coloured, slower water.

A good day, lots of fish jumping too.
Persistence required today, with the feeder having laid plenty of bait through the day bringing the fish on later in the afternoon.

What a difference a day and different beat make from a
Blank at how caple yesterday to superb fishing at lower canon bridge today, all chub ranging between 3lb up to 5lb 2oz only fished from 6 until curfew due to torrential rain sadly no barbel but I think the chub were getting to bait first.Tried boilie and pellet but caught on meat and ground bait feeder. The other was an eel.
