Beautiful day for it with the river on its way down but still pretty high. 3 beautiful 2-3 lb chub graced our nets on beat 4. No sign of any barbel though. Although the fishing was slowish the kingfisher kept us entertained all day.

First time fishing this beat , wasn’t much available as it was a busy day , so took what we could , river looked perfect and I was feeling positive. Not many swims from the first car park but there were better ones from the lay-by section onwards downstream. Very challenging day , we really grafted today but only managed 1 chub of 3lbs , stunning views of the valley and forest , but those wanting some tranquility be aware that there are 2 busy roads either side of the river and traffic noise is constant. Will return again to explore this place , much more to have a go at
