Dreadful windy, wet conditions. Towards the end of the day I headed for the dam where it was more sheltered. Last cast I caught a nice 1lb wild brown (returned).

We fished just for the morning in the upper section only. The river felt faster than two weeks ago. Studded wader boots were a big plus.

Fished just the morning due to impending inclement weather . Fished from one of the Croys near the hut, sweetcorn on a drilled bullet best tactic along with stick float.

Passport : on directions why not put a grid ref or other means to enable location for access as surely most people use sat Nav ?

Only fished the afternoon. Pretty miserable weather. Strong wind and persistent rain. Upstream nymphing produced one brown on a PTN nr Quarry pool. Still enjoyable and will return again.

Sporadic hatches of olives encouraged the odd rising fish . The two brown trout caught and returned were well over a pound in perfect condition . Heavy rain stopped play .

Got there midday just as it started raining heavily. Tried ledgering pellet and bollies but the weed was a problem and made it very difficult to fish. Not many swims on this stretch and couple with adverse weather it was not a productive afternoon.

Was really looking forward to this best but it turned out to not be a great day. Given the river levels are so low, much of the beat was simply inaccessible. In fact the first half down to the gardens had no access. We fished 3-4 swims opposite the botanical gardens, feeding up swims ahead of fishing but barely had 2 feet of water. Various methods and baits but not even a twitch. The weather was pouring with rain and blowing a Gale.

Would try again but when levels are higher. We both blanked which was a real disappointment given the previous days excellent catches from How Caple Court.

Lovely stretch with friendly and helpful bailiff and a good selection of swims. Fishing was a little slow on the day though. We struggled in general this week. One small barbel early on and a couple of chub later in the day.
