7 Barbel, 47 Chub

Nice river. level quite normal (according to grass on dry banks). Very few rises. Blank day rods. Dry only.

Fishing a bit slow earlier in the day but picked up later on .Only Chub in the woods but found some Barbel in other area.Best Barbel today was 7 lbs 10 oz and the biggest Chub 4 lbs 10 oz.

Quite difficult to locate any fish but when we did had a few up to a pound

All fish caught on spiders, down and across through the riffles at the top and at the lower section of the beat.

A few trout rising but very few close enough to reach and even less willing to take a fly. Nothing caught, not even a nibble on the bottom or mid water. Great place to be quiet and peaceful regardless of catching anything. Reservoir full for the first time in months and subsequently attracting water birds - which was rather pleasant.
